ALEXANDは 2008年から2009年にかけて活動。メンバー募集を開始し、米国の楽器会社GRETSCHの125周年記念メモリーコンテストに参加。ALEXANDは「Next Gretsch Greats Unsigned Artist Competition」に楽曲「Sincere」をエントリー。コンテストには、7 か国 (米国、英国、日本、カナダ、ドイツ、フランス、スペイン) から 850 名を超える無所属のインディペンデント アーティストが参加し、その中から ALEXAND はトップ 10 のファイナリストに残りました。受賞者には選ばれませんでしたが、フレッド・グレッチさんからとても心温まるお手紙をいただきました。 ALEXAND にとって、このコンテストは本当に名誉なことであり、心から音楽とアレンジメントを作ることへの愛情を継続する自信を得るのに役立った素晴らしい経験でした。
