The long-awaited second EP by Rehab has been released!

The title of this work is "Welcome to our problems!", but vocalist Natsume is not arrogantly talking about the wonderful Koizumi syntax of "very personal problems ultimately lead to the personal problems of each individual in the truest sense."

The opening of this work is the famous song M-1 "Toxic Chains," where guitarist Masa says "To me, they're the Roosters" right after vocalist Natsume says "Our high-speed Bella Cioa," and there is not even a millimeter of truth to the fact that they later led to a duel on Ganryu Island.

While the impressive riff leads the band's sound, for some reason guitarist Masa continues to roar behind drummer Deguchi's passionate bongos, and bassist Kawai plays the bass seriously. This song is a monumental achievement of reaching a new dimension of "Spanish Ska + Punk = Skunk (lol)" by bringing together the sharp lyrics and melody with superb performance and arrangement skills. Must listen.

Then, with almost no gap between songs, it avalanches into M-2 "Let It Out With My Mouth". The rhythm section's solid performance skills, which incorporates Merseybeat and psychobilly, and the humorous lyrics with double meanings, bring the whole song together in a thrilling way. However, for some reason, Paranoid attacks as a roaring wall at the end, and this song shows their very characteristic sense of humor, which they often say "I want to laugh at the end". Must listen.

M-3 "Forever Bros" is a minimalist ballad number that is a complete departure from the previous songs, with lyrics addressed to a close friend who quit the band, melodiously put together with the songwriting skills that they actually possess quite well. The legendary fifth member "Omanchin" participated in this song on keyboards, expanding the scope of this EP. A must-listen.

The album ends with M-4 "Shared Pain", a folk rock mid-tempo number that is a staple in live performances. With simple backing and simple performance, and a no-frills style of all members singing along, this song is both funny and tearful. No explanation needed, a must-listen.

They seem to be joking around, but they are more serious than anyone else, and they seem serious, but they are more joking than anyone else.
Why not laugh and listen to their tension and release?

Artist Profile

  • Rehabilitation's

Formed in April 2023. Based in Komazawa Playground (just a private house) in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, the band plays a wide range of music genres, including rock, punk, folk, and funk, loosely and without overreaching, or rather, as they please, yelling out whatever they like, not overdoing it! They don't want to cause trouble over music! They are doing things that really aren't what grown-ups do, but they are doing it at their own pace but energetically. The band's name, "Rehab-tachi," comes from the fact that Natsume, the guitarist and vocalist, quit the band he had been in for many years, and was in a daze and spent every day at home immersed in the task of "staring at the wood grain of the ceiling until it looks different," when he thought, "Maybe I'll start a band as a form of rehabilitation," and called out to his old friends to form the band. This means that all the members would be considered "poor people who are being forced to go through rehabilitation", but unfortunately, all of them have some kind of defect, so they are still "in rehabilitation". Rehabilitation until death!
