With his distinctive sound and artistic vision, Asuka Louis drops his highly anticipated debut album "Process." - a genre-defying collection that captures the raw journey of creation itself, presented across 19 carefully crafted tracks.
What sets this album apart is its entirely self-produced nature. From songwriting and arrangement to recording, mixing, mastering, and even artwork, every step was handled solely by Asuka Louis - completed in just two months. The result is a pure reflection of his musical identity and unwavering creative control.
Rooted in hip-hop, the album explores a range of genres across its 19 tracks - from trap and R&B to jazz and rock - all while maintaining a cohesive and refined sonic identity.
Especially notable is the track "Noise Cancel" - a killer summer anthem driven by lively rhythms and brassy hooks, layered with a bold message about tuning out the noise of others and staying true to your own path.
With a music video set to premiere on his YouTube channel (boasting over 200K subscribers), "Process." invites listeners into a fresh sonic experience that pushes genre limits and personal expression alike.
Born in Tokyo in 2002 to Korean parents, Asuka Louis spent his high school years studying in the U.S., where he was deeply influenced by the local hip-hop scene and Western music. He began releasing music on SoundCloud in 2019 under the name "mosura," while also launching a vlog style YouTube channel as "Mick," which has since grown to over 200,000 subscribers. In 2021, he drove solo to Atlanta to fully commit to his artistry. After returning to Japan, he refined his production skills through self-study and reintroduced himself in 2024 under the name "Asuka Louis" with a self-titled EP. From songwriting and production to mixing, mastering, and artwork, he developed a fully independent creative process. In April 2025, he released his first full-length album, process. Spanning 19 tracks, the album blends hip hop with elements of R&B, jazz, rock, and pop - showcasing a bold evolution in sound and a distinct artistic voice.
