"Rose Osmanthus" is an archival album featuring five early songs written and recorded by Yuko Aoyama under her former artist name, Rose Osmanthus.
Beginning with "First Flight," a song inspired by aviation physiology, the album explores curiosity, longing, flight, observation, and loss.
Rooted in city pop and Japanese pop, these songs capture both the impulse to travel toward the unknown and a lingering gaze toward places left behind. More than a nostalgic collection, "Rose Osmanthus" preserves the opening chapter of Yuko Aoyama's work and the origins of the artist she is today.
A singer-songwriter who lives on curiosity. The sky, the ocean, summer, airplanes, and scenes from memory. Drawing on Heisei-era J-POP and city pop, I create songs that make you want to dance and songs that let you feel freer.
