    MON/KU lives in Tochigi prefecture in Japan. In December 2018 he started composing and by January 2019, he released his first song "S I N K" on Soundcloud. He has no prior music experience and cannot play any instruments. He unexpectedly started to want to create and produce music. He started composing from his own perspective with DAW. The artist name " MON/KU " is derived from the Japanese meaning as "a complaint". His music is difficult to categorize as he produces different genres such as Avant Pop, Dark Pop through Electronic Music. He is influenced by multiple artists such as RADIOHEAD, björk, James Blake, Sigur Rós, Bon Iver, Mogwai and more.
