Legacy

Kingo, Yamato

Kingo, Yamato Beats

An earnest man, took his job as destiny

Father of a daughter and would not commit a felony

Cause he was bright man everyone wanted to be with

Heart warmer than a candle in a cave, always

Determined to change the world to a better place

Determined to bridge the gap between the states

But the servant of the devil fucked everything up

Took a knife to his chest he couldn't stand up

Scared, but bravely he fought with every inch of his life

Feeling the light escape from his windpipe

Took away everything he had envisioned he'd have

Future with his daughter and his wife, but the legacy lives on

If we tell the stories of the spirits in heaven

You reckon it's gonna change the planet were living on

Every day is a day I wished you had

And I live another one for you, the cycles goes on

And the cycles goes, and the cycles goes

Yeah, we gotta stay together

Let the legacy, live forever

Yeah, we gotta stay together

Born to a family in midst of poverty

Raised, into a man who knows the rights and wrongs

Wealth, kept in his soul a warrior with a sharp mind

A true kind, a giver who saw through the blinds

But the clouds start fading in

Gray forecast, wrong prognosis

Malignant tumor was the final diagnosis

The fight was far from over through

He was not alone

His numbered days became months and years

Gave hope to millions through the papers he appeared

Even though hes no longer around

His spirit still burns in his children

So the legacy lives on

If we tell the stories of the spirits in heaven

You reckon it's gonna change the planet were living on

Every day is a day I wished you had

And I live another one for you, the cycles goes on

And the cycle goes, and the cycle goes…

Just a young girl from Ibaragi, born 1919

Married into a household of high status

Living in the epicenter of Tokyo

Taking care of in laws, basically as maids do

But then the war started, the whole country turned broke

And came the akagami, time for the husband to go

Telling her children he'd definitely come back

Decided to protect the house until its all over

Soon came the bombings and the neighborhood was gone

She was walking through the bodies and the burning houses

Contemplating, if life was worth continuing

「川に飛び込んだら自由になれる」

But her children cried for her, so she couldn’t do it

The war was over, she kept waiting and waiting, but

All that came was a box with his name on it

No bones inside, not a thing that remained of him

Her children cried screaming that she lied

But they had to survive, no matter the reality

All from nothing she started her business

She did everything from trade to tobacco to diners

She built a life for herself and let the kids go to school

And lived with her grandchild who was my mother

And I was born, 1998

In Tokyo, Japan, she passed when I was 18

But her soul still lives through me, yeah

Kingo, you know that I'm the messenger

Connecting the past and future generations

Living another story to be told

And the legacy lives on

If we tell the stories of the spirits in heaven

You reckon it's gonna change the planet were living on

Every day is a day you lived for me

And so I live another one for you, the cycles goes on

And the cycle goes, and the cycle goes…

Yeah, we gotta stay together

Let the legacy, live forever

Yeah, we gotta stay together

Let the legacy, live forever

We gotta stay together

Let the legacy, live forever

We gotta stay together

Let the legacy, live, forever
