"Three Samurai" is a Japanese-style rock anthem born from the definitions of dictionaries.
It portrays three samurai, each with their own spirit, yet united under one path Bushido.
Words become blades, cutting through the age, carving open the future.
Reinterpreting the spirit Inazo Nitobe once shared with the world in Bushido: The Soul of Japan, this song brings that philosophy into the present.
It asks not only the Japanese, but everyone who listens:
"Whom will you protect, and whom will you strike?"
Kneeking Records is an independent music label devoted to capturing the soul of the Dictionary Journey through sound. Founded by Yoshihiro Sato a calligrapher, language pilgrim, and former world kickboxing champion the label weaves together words, rhythm, and voice to create a truly distinctive musical world. Since 2013, Sato has been reading Japanese dictionaries one page at a time, drawing inspiration from each definition to craft poetry, music, and calligraphy. This ongoing project, known as Jisho no Tabi (Dictionary Journey), continues to evolve with every passing day.
