Sendai, 1986.
A city still waiting for its subway.
Diesel exhaust hangs over the station rotary. A rental record shop glows along the street. An old love song drifts from the car radio as the first cool September breeze begins to replace the heat of summer.
"When the subway opens, I wonder if this city will change."
Born in 1999, Rina Hayama never knew this Sendai.
September Wind '86 is an imagined memory-a song built from old photographs, old music, and a time she never experienced.
Summer is ending. The season is changing.
And somewhere along the way, perhaps the city and the people are changing too.
"September Wind '86"
An '80s city-pop song for a past that was never hers.
