Debuted as an R&B singer in her teen, YOSHIKA has proved not only her talent in singing but also in her skills as a songwriter with a collaboration with m-flo in their single "let go". While her previous album "About a Beautiful Mistake" (2018) was praised not only locally but in overseas, increasing her fandom internationally over the hardcore music fans, YOSHIKA released the 7 track mini album "In Such Darkness". Just like her last work, she produced all of her music and lyrics as well as doing her own recording.
Following the post chillwave genre and focusing on a minimal arrangement, the new album accentuates YOSHIKA's delicate and well thought out chorus work.
This new album allows you to enjoy her sweet husky voice more than ever, and gently heals the minds of modern people.
Another thing to mention is the tracks are mixed by seven different sound engineers, each with unique characters, offering seven different soundscapes as hidden flavors. This is an album you will enjoy with something like a cup of deeply roasted coffee at a break time of your day.

    1983年、横浜生まれ。 11歳からカナダに1年半、17歳の時にアメリカに2年半の海外在住経験を持つ。 帰国後、CM音楽などの活動を始める。 アル・クーパーの名曲をカバーした【JOLIE】は 2002～03年のSONY Cyber-ShotのTV-CMに起用され 2003年2月にYOSHIKAの1st シングルとしてリリースされる。 同年11月、8曲入りミニアルバム【STRAIGHT AHEAD】をリリース。 2004年11月、m-floの新ヴォーカリストに一躍抜擢され『m-flo loves YOSHIKA』名義で MAXI SINGLE【let go】がavexよりリリースされる。 2005年、ATLANTIC JAPAN/WARNER MUSIC JAPANと契約を交わし 【Call Me】でメジャーデビュー。 2006年1月 、メジャー1stフルアルバム【timeless】をリリース。 オリコンチャート初登場20位を記録。 同年、自身の結婚、妊娠を転機にメジャーシーンから一線を退くことを決意。 出産を経て2008年12月にフルアルバム【World】にて音楽シーンに復帰。 2010年1月、アルバム【REDWOOD TREE】を 3月にはライヴベストアルバム【I SING -LIVE BEST-】を 9月22日にはiTunes限定でミニアルバム【Strongly In Life】をリリース。 2012年、イラストレーターの利光春華などのクリエイターとともにARMATELの活動を開始。 2015年、5年ぶりとなるオリジナルフルアルバム【YOSHIKA】をリリース。 2018年、アルバム【About a Beautiful Mistake】 、2019年にアルバム【In Such Darkness（邦題：こんな暗闇の中で）】をリリース。 2021年9月に​​シングル【Quiet Talk】​を、2022年6月にシングル【Center Of My Heart】​を​リリースする。
