HIMIs new EP YASE is built around organic soul, while embracing a more pronounced sense of Japanese lyricism and folkloric resonance than any of his previous works.
Recorded in intimate settings, including a friends house in Kyoto, the project emerged through a spontaneous, instinct-driven process that gives each track a raw immediacy as though the atmosphere of the moment itself had been pressed into the music.

There is a certain earthy nostalgia running through YASE, yet it never settles into simple sentimentality. Instead, the EP reveals a character that feels wholly singular and unmistakably its own.
Shaped through close recording environments and an organic, improvisational creative process, YASE opens up a new sonic landscape for HIMI subtle in mood, yet strikingly distinct in form.
