This is the latest release from "629," a songwriting and production duo formed by Masanobu Fujita and Ryo Hoshino.

Active since around 2000, the duo has provided J-pop tracks to a wide range of top artists, including Tomohisa Yamashita, AKB48, and BRIGHT. Their signature sound blends distinctive grooves and refined melodic sensibilities heavily influenced by 1970s soul and funk, particularly acts like The Isley Brothers.

    629 is a J-Pop composer unit that has been active since the early 2000s. Over the past quarter-century, we have been at the heart of the J-Pop scene, creating music for a wide range of artists and organizations, including Tomohisa Yamashita, AKB48, Minami Takahashi, BRIGHT, All Japan Pro Wrestling, and the official anthem for the B.League Yamagata Wyverns. Having witnessed the evolution of J-Pop firsthand for 25 years, we have seen music production technology advance dramatically, finally allowing us to achieve the arrangements we originally envisioned but could not technically realize at the time. With the current resurgence of City Pop and Y2K culture, we felt it was the perfect moment to revisit our "lost" tracks. We have been re-arranging and digitally releasing these songs, breathing new life into compositions that remained unreleased until now. Though these tracks were once shelved, they remain precious to us, like our own children. We truly hope that the current era will resonate with the music we poured our hearts into.
