This is a straight cover of Yumi Matsutoya's 1982 song "Pearl Earrings" by Yuri Tanaka, the vocalist of Blu-Swing, who has been singing classic CITY POP songs in the "City Lights" series! This is the second time she has participated in "Sea of Love," following Eiichi Otaki's cover of "Ame no Wensday" in 2020 and Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Tribe's "Futari no Natsu Monogatari (A Summer's Tale for Two)" in 2022.
The summer atmosphere of the original song and the rich, sparkling brass arrangement are recreated as is. The slightly increased tempo of the rhythm and Yuri Tanaka's straight and clear vocals make this arrangement a must for ongoing city pop fans.
