The City's in a Blackout (LIVE at alikwa) [Cover]

Yukitaka Nagami, Junko Wada

The City's in a Blackout (English version) [Cover]

    Yukitaka Nagami, Junko Wada

Here are the live version and the English version of Misato and Shin's song Machi ha teiden de.
Imagine the sudden darkness, the moment of being left stunned, and how it makes your thoughts drift deeper than expected - an unexpected glimpse of the extraordinary hidden in the blackout.

Another point to enjoy is the difference in arrangement between the two versions of the same song.
The cover artwork features a cat portrait painted by Wada.

  • Junko Wada

A singer-songwriter from Tokyo, now based in Fukuoka. She graduated from the Graduate School of Tama Art University. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, she relocated to Fukuoka. As the vocalist and songwriter for BE THE VOICE, she was discovered in 1998 by Yukihiro Takahashi of YMO and made her debut with the group. Since 2020, she has also performed solo under the name Zunko, focusing on acoustic live shows. While BE THE VOICE pursues an urban pop approach, her solo work emphasizes raw acoustic sound and the theme of musical communication. Influenced by artists such as Carole King and Stevie Wonder, her smoky and soulful vocals, sometimes incorporating rap, ride over her folksy guitar playing. She has also composed and performed music for TV commercials, jingles, narration, company songs, corporate image themes, and graduation songs for kindergartens. In 2022, she released the BE THE VOICE album And now, inspired by forests and the natural world. Beginning in 2025, she also started creating commissioned paintings under the series "Nyan Cat Portraits." Alongside this, she continues to develop a wide range of creative expressions, including design and puppet projects, establishing herself as a truly multi-faceted artist.
