  • Kanho Yakushiji

    Born in 1979. I am from Imabari city, Ehime prefecture. Currently, he is a deputy director and a musician of Rinzai sect and Imaji temple in Imabari. In 2003, as a chorus group "KISSAQUO" formed in Kyoto. The origin of the group name comes from the Zen language "tea ceremony" which has the meaning of "please go for tea". On July 16, 2016, one-man live performance was held at the Matsuyama Municipal Hall Kaikan Great Hall, and the mobilization of nearly 700 people was recorded! Also released the 5th full album "Daylight Day". Nationwide TSUTAYA CD Daily Ranking, winning third place dignifiedly while indie. On January 8, 2017 Kyoto Prefectural Culture and Arts Center Band One Man Live also paid great success with full ceremony. On August 3rd, guest appeared in Alfie Konosuke Sakazaki's TV program "Odaiba Folk Village", and he plays with Mr. Sakasaki and Mr. George. In July of this year, the withdrawal of the members is decided, and as a monk solo vocal project newly, "Kissaquo" is restarted from autumn. Moreover, in order to connect Buddhism to the next generation as a priest,Searching for expressive ways of multiplying music and Buddhism, A challenging work "Heart Sutra" album with various arrangements plus voices will be released in May this year. The original version, "Heart Sutra cho ver. (Short mix)" already exceeded YOUTUBE 1 million times! China's SNS recorded amazing 14 million plays.

    2003年、薬師寺を中心に、コーラスグループ「キッサコ」を京都で結成。 名前の由来は、「お茶でもどうぞ」の意味を持つ禅語「喫茶去」から。 2013年、薬師寺が修行を終え、僧侶になってからは、仏教の教えをわかりやすい日本語に置き換え、懐かしいポップスのメロディーとハーモニーで伝えていくことをコンセプトに、寺院ライブを軸として活動を展開する。今までにアルバム5枚、シングルは15枚以上リリース。2016年7月16日には、松山市民会館大ホールにてワンマンライブを開催し、700人近くの動員を記録。 同年リリースの5枚目フルアルバム「日日是好日」は、TSUTAYA CDデイリーランキングにて堂々の３位を獲得。 2017年8月3日、アルフィー坂崎幸之助氏のテレビ番組「お台場フォーク村」にゲスト出演、坂崎氏・所ジョージ氏と共演を果たす。 2018年7月、メンバーである山元の脱退が決まり、 7月28日に京都アルティで行われる二人体制キッサコのラストライブは500席がSOLD OUTとなる。 同年8月より、15年間続けてきた「キッサコ」の名を引き継ぎ、 新たに、”僧侶ボーカルプロジェクト”「薬師寺寛邦 キッサコ」として再始動する。 また、僧侶として次世代に仏教をつないでいくため、音楽と仏教を掛け合わせ、 般若心経に声を重ねアレンジしたアルバム「般若心経」を今年5月にリリース。 オリジナルバージョンである「般若心経 cho ver.」は、YouTubeで200万回再生を突破！ 台湾の東森新聞では160万回、中国のSNSでは驚異の2,000万回再生を記録。 フジテレビ「めざましテレビ」等、多くのメディアにて取り上げられた。 中国での大反響を受け、2018年12月には、中国本土・台湾を巡る全6箇所公演のワンマンライブツアーの開催され、5,000人の動員を記録し大盛況となった。 日本からアジアへ、縁を繋ぎ、仏教を音に乗せ、伝え続ける。
