Foundation / A Person Like the Rain

A year after their previous 2nd EP "BLUE JEANS", Academic BANANA return with their new release "Foundation / Ame no You na Hito (A Person Like the Rain)".
Drawing from Tomoki Saito's roots in folk and kayōkyoku, the band transforms these influences through each member's high-level musicianship, creating a sound that feels both solid and delicately textured. In particular, "Foundation" stands as the pinnacle of Academic BANANA's sound to date.
With an emotional yet androgynous voice, Tomoki Saito weaves two rain-themed songs that heighten their sense of melancholy by avoiding the use of a first-person perspective. Scattered throughout are words that echo their past works, reminding listeners that these songs are part of a continuous everyday narrative, while also adding a new page to the band's unfolding story.
