Artist Profile

  • The Sandboxief

    A four-piece rock band progressively building emotion of a new generation. The members are Komei Kato (Vo/Gt.), Koharu Watanabe (Gt.), Ryo Matsuhashi (Ba.), and Nozomu Yajima (Drs.). Formed around October 2024 at Kumano Dormitory, Kyoto University, they began performing live at the end of 2024, starting with their self-organized event "Daiichi Koen." Currently active across a wide range of venues from student-run autonomous spaces at universities to live houses all around Japan. Their music, characterized by technical irregular time signatures, heavy unison riffs, walls of sound, and richly poetic songs infused with strong melodies, is garnering growing attention as a compelling expression of the present.
