From Tokyo to World, MOP "Music of the People" is ready to flash out Japanese soul with "WA" avant-garde roaring saxophone. If you haven't tuned yourself into the sound of Genji Sawai, you still cannot call yourself a music devotee. Since 1973, Sawai has professionally committed himself into a major music scene. He has performed with a host of many famed musicians such as Eikichi Yazawa, Koji Kikkawa, and more to name. Along with the most noteworthy album[SOWAKA]cowriting with Bill Raswell, who is most recognized as a producer of Harbie Hancock. also Sawai has released "SkipJack", " Yellow", " Jojo", "Jack", "Shizuku" and successfully achieved that his position being "genreless" artist. His music combines elements of jazz, funk, alternative, rock and electro(to name a few), which culminate to create the world of "Genji Sawai." His tenacious pursuit of new sounds results into creating a whole distinctive crew. Michiyo Yagi, Koto player, takes Koto into a whole different perspective, introducing the elements of jazz, rock and contemporary music and intricately corporates it and creates a new genre. U-zhaan, elegantly plays "Tabula,"an indian traditional instrument, and mesmerizes a host of music fans. Many more crews such as Masaaki Kikuchi, track maker/arranger, Takeshi Asada , a long-time-crew, and Konda Kiyoto, guitarist, plays a fantastic role in the album. Newly released [TOKYO kaihouku] (Tokyo Liberation Area) is surely the unprecedented work even inside of major music scene.
