Riku Taira
Riku Taira was born in Shizuoka , January 1996. He started playing the drums at the age of six , studying under Kozo Suganuma, Hiro Tsunoda and Tommy Campbell.In 2007, he won the grand prize in the Drum Magazine contest when he was eleven .He released his leader album FLATLAND (DVD) after getting an endorsement contract with TAMA Drums in 2008. He started playing with Kenji Hino and Darek Jackson at jazz clubs.Tama Drums started his signature stick sales in 2011. He played on Paul Jackson's album "Gg3 " in 2013.He toured Japan with Tony Maiden, Paul Jackson in 2014.In 2015, recorded with Rufus in LA. Recorded with Claud Mcknight from TAKE6, toured Michiru Monday , performed with Anime Symphonia and Hadrien Feraud. Toured Japan with Tony Maiden . Did the ONITSUKA TIGER fashion show in 2016.Monday Michiru called him for her performance in NYC and he also played for Hair show of TONI&GUY in 2017.In 2018, he played with Hiromi Uehara and celebrated Riku's 10th anniversary of his Debut with June Yamagishi.
