Kato Kino is a talented singer-songwriter. She has released her third EP, "Toro," a series of six songs that coolly "expose" the absurdity and unreasonableness that infest the current era. The forth song is "Zamanewa". Comment by the artist:
A song of rebellion made just for fun on the guitar. When I was involved with adults who only find value in money, I said to myself, "Oh no! I'm going to be corrupted by money! I thought, "Oh no! This is going to corrupt me with money! He only said, "That's so cool," so it seems nothing was conveyed to him.
Kino Kato began performing in 2014. In 2015, they won the Nagoya Grand Prix at the 9th Music Revolution. Their music features a percussive guitar style combined with lyrics that humorously and ironically reflect the absurdities of everyday life and discomfort with society. They traveled alone to London, the Czech Republic, and Paris, independently promoting their music. Their solo show in Paris was a full house, and they spent three months busking, developing a truly one-of-a-kind style of expression. In 2021, they launched their own independent label, ONIKO LABEL. The name "Kino Kato" comes from a childhood nickname. Due to their bowl-cut hairstyle, they were often called "kinoko" (mushroom) in school. "Kino" is a remnant of that nickname, paired with their surname at the time, "Kato."
