A new wave of kawaii has arrived.
Since her debut, Sena Chihiro has been releasing songs in the kawaii series in pursuit of "my own kawaii." Her long-awaited fourth single is a serious kawaii jazz work following kawaii POP, kawaii EDM, and kawaii ROCK. The second in her "drink trilogy" following her previous work, Cider, this is a profound yet light-hearted jazz/city pop song inspired by afternoon tea, singing of an adult romance that has savored the bitter and sweet aspects of love. Sena Chihiro's kawaii sound is not pre-made; she writes her own lyrics, selects and negotiates with her composer, video director, choreographer, and costume designer, creating it by hand. It's not Harajuku-style, but perhaps Omotesando-style. Even if it's not the mainstream of the times, she wants to share this kawaii with someone. It's not created by inertia or mass production, it's kawaii from the soul. This is an important work that lies in the middle of this turbulent trilogy. Please enjoy it.
Sena Chihiro has a stylish silhouette and an ennui-filled, clear singing voice. After working as a member of an idol group and as an influencer, she self-produced her first kawaii POP solo single, "Buzz Life Year!" in 2024. The music video, packed with Japan's world-famous kawaii aesthetic, garnered attention and even ranked highly on the German iTunes Store J-POP chart. In 2025, she appeared as the opening act at SAPPORO COLLECTION 2025 SPRING/SUMMER, debuting her second kawaii EDM single, "parallel." She then announced the release of a "drink trilogy." The first was kawaii ROCK's third single, "Ryokataomoi," and the second was kawaii JAZZ's fourth single, "High Tea for Lonely me." She also wrote the lyrics for all the songs, aiming to become a top "kawaii sound creator".
