A four-track mini album by saxophonist Ryota Sasaki, a graduate of Berklee College of Music Global Jazz Institude.
Inspired by the Buddhist concept of the Four Immeasurables (Loving-Kindness, Compassion, Sympathetic Joy, and Equanimity ) the album is conceived as a four-part suite exploring these principles through contemporary jazz.
Blending jazz with the string quartet, the project showcases Sasaki's distinctive voice not only as a saxophonist, but also as a composer. Through an innovative fusion of jazz and chamber music, the album offers a fresh perspective on compassion and human connection in modern society.
A deeply personal and ambitious work, this release aims to make a meaningful statement within the emerging Gen Z jazz scene, while exploring new possibilities for contemporary jazz composition and ensemble music.
