Nakamura Minami releases her solo debut single "Ride" produced by andrew from TREKKIE TRAX.
This is the first single after disbanding "TENG GANG STARR", a group she used to be a part.
As Minami explains, the concept of this song is "summer & love". She raps about her past memories and her current lifestyle as a rapper. She also raps in a singing style that emphasizes the melody at the hook.
In the lyrics, her enthusiasm for riding the waves from the scenery of her home Tsujido is included.
The sound producer, andrew from TREKKIE TRAX, produced the track and also was in charge of everything from vocal direction, mixing and mastering.
Nakamura Minami is a Japanese rapper with a tough backstory of homelessness, which contrasts with her childlike characteristics. She stands out as a unique presence, blending Trap, Dancehall, and club tracks with Japanese lyrics and a highly original flow. Her career began with the Hip-hop unit "TENG GANG STARR," formed in 2015 by Kamui. After releasing a CD album titled "ICON," the group went on hiatus, prompting Nakamura Minami to embark on her solo career in 2019. The track "Reiwa," a collaboration between TREKKIE TRAX CREW and Nakamura Minami, gained worldwide recognition, with DJs playing it in clubs and festivals globally. Subsequently, she collaborated with artists such as Roska, kidkanevil, Anna Lunoe, Morgan Hislop, ITOA, and Hodge. Her song "Ice Cream," co-created with Anna Lunoe and released on Mad Decent, featured in the racing game Need for Speed Unbound, marketed by Electronic Arts. Additionally, her other tracks have received support from DJs worldwide, including Four Tet, Ben UFO, AC Slater, and more. In 2023, she performed at the "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL," one of Japan's largest festivals. She is particularly noteworthy for those interested in emerging Japanese rappers.
