Tortionals
TORTIONALS is a four-piece rock band based in Kashiwa, Chiba. Formed in 2022 by local friends who were previously active in different bands, they proved their worth by performing at the prestigious local outdoor festival "CAMPASS 2022" just six months after formation. They have continued to perform at "CAMPASS," most recently electrifying audiences at the 2024 edition. While rooted in punk rock, pop punk, and emo, their sound stands out for incorporating elements of power pop and country music. Their accessible melodies inspire singalongs with beer in hand, and their international rock sound has garnered support from fans both in Japan and abroad. In 2023-24, they embarked on their first international performances with the "GO OUT ASIA TOUR," culminating in a sold-out show at Shimokitazawa SHELTER. They have actively supported tours of foreign bands in Japan and performed at outdoor festivals in Korea and Taiwan, steadily expanding their presence throughout Asia. In December 2024, they performed at "Punk Strike Festival 2024" in Taiwan, further strengthening their presence in the Asian punk scene. In April 2025, they released the new single "Burn Out," a track that addresses digital-age anxieties and self-liberation, embodying the band's growth and evolution over the three years since their formation. With their unconventional musicality and approach to activities, TORTIONALS continues to break new ground in the rock scene, maintaining a strong presence in the Asian punk rock community.
