We lived here long ago
Loved our own
Loved our families
We lived our lives with love
People called us gods
People called us devils
Until every one of us was gone
We are no longer here
We are no longer here
We lived here long ago
Guarded the forest
Raised our young
We lived as one with nature
People revered us
People feared us
Our homes and our lives were taken away
We will be gone
We will be gone
One day, they came in groups
They learned to use tools
They competed with their own kind
And destroyed nature
People made their own gods
People made their own devils
And vanished at the end of evolution
No one will be left
No one will be left
We have lived in the universe
We honored the sun
We cherished the moon
And lived our lives in balance
Life that lives with the Earth
Life that lives against the Earth
All life comes and goes
We will meet again
We will meet again

We Will Be Gone (Jazz Version)
mackkya
The first verse sings of extinct animals, the second of animals facing extinction, the third of humanity, and the fourth of the Earth.
I usually paint cats, birds, extinct animals, and animals facing extinction. I express in paintings what cannot be expressed in words, and in music what cannot be fully expressed through painting.
This album offers both a gospel-inspired and a jazz-inspired version of the song. Listen to whichever one speaks to your heart, and enjoy it again and again.
Artist Profile
mackkya
It all started with a shelter cat. I draw him, create illustrations and goods, and make music. Through my creative work, I hope that animals around the world can live happy and fulfilling lives.
