Swaying on the train beside him, listening to his breathing, feeling their fingers almost touch, walking home alone past the convenience store lights, and seeing her flushed cheeks in the mirror after taking off her scarf... all these small moments slowly give shape to the "I love you" she still can't say out loud.
She scribbles his initials in the corner of her notebook, smudging them with her finger, and quietly circles the number 24 on her calendar. By the time winter ends, she hopes to be just a little stronger, ready to finally look him in the eye and say "I love you" in this gentle, honest winter love ballad.
