The Kadokawa film Resurrection of the Golden Wolf (starring Yusaku Matsuda, based on the novel by Haruhiko Oyabu) was released in 25 August 1979. It is a masterpiece action film depicting the emptiness and obsession of the protagonist, Tetsuya Asakura, an ordinary company employee by day, who lives by cold-hearted ambition by night. The song of the month is its theme song, "Theme of Resurrection of the Golden Wolf."

Casey Rankin, who composed the music, created a unique sound that blends blues and sophisticated urban fusion, combining refinement with a sense of loneliness. Yoko Maeno, the original lead vocalist of Pedro & Capricious, infused the track with her husky, decadent vocals. Coexisting with cool composure and passion, her voice vividly highlights the sorrow of a man falling at the end of his desires.

Bringing together the presence of Yusaku Matsuda, a Western-influenced sound, and Yoko Maeno's passion, this track stands as a masterpiece of 1970s Showa hardboiled music that continues to shine today.
