Artist Profile
MosMutes
The group consists of vocalists Mimi and Sonia, and composer KT. One of the main reasons they consider themselves a conceptual "music group" rather than a band is their musicality. The group was formed with the aim of expressing a new style of rock that is not bound by genre, while clearly showing respect for Japanese rock and popular music, with influences from Brazilian music (MBP) at its core. To do this, they needed to be able to create music without worrying about the limitations of studio production, and needed an environment and concept that would allow them to express musicality that would be difficult to reproduce live, such as incorporating experimental attempts as gimmicks or utilizing large-scale orchestral sounds. Just like The Beatles in the past. Another reason is the times. It is also a challenge to carry out musical activities on a minimal scale, as an experimental and hypothetical response to today's creator economy. The concept is that KT composes and creates all of the sound production required for their musical activities, while Mimi and Sonia sing together, including the chorus. It's also a playful idea to think that by doing everything from visuals and design to music video production entirely within the group, it would be interesting to demonstrate this to the masses. However, one of the conditions that could be called the philosophy of their musicality is that it must be "pop and catchy," and as a result, they have come up with the group's tagline, which is "beautiful yet perverse, pop and psychedelic rock," which seems to be the ultimate in omnivorous music.
