RiLF, the alternative rock band formed by Matryoshka vocalist, Calu, an electronica unit featuring a mysterious sound, and Takahiro Kido and Yuki Murata who are members of Anoice, an instrumental music band featuring cinematic sound, completed their latest EP, 'yellow veil'.

This EP includes two masterpieces, 'bird garden', featuring a mysterious and beautiful sound like you are wandering in a dream, and 'skytrail', a nostalgic and melancholic, but gentle and hope-filled song. As with the past songs, Anoice took charge of playing the instruments. In addition, previous collaborators from Anoice and its solo/side projects, Kumi Takahara, Tsuchiya Kaori, and Saiko Yano, joined as the violinist, cellist, and flutist. They made it possible to express the sound which expanses endless.

The production of this EP began when Calu and Takahiro Kido joined together with Yuki Murata, who had just finished her China tour, in October, 2025, and then they visited Hong Kong. They recorded a collection with sounds which symbolise Hong Kong such as the hustle and bustle of the city, the guidance sound of the traffic light, the announcement in the train, and the taking-off sound of plane. In the second track 'skytrail', you will also be able to hear the rhythm made from the bamboo scaffolding of the buildings.

The cover photo of this EP was taken when the members revisited Hong Kong again in March, 2026. The music video of 'skytrail' which they recorded at that time will also be released alongside the EP release.

    The alternative rock band formed by Calu who is the vocalist of Matryoshka, an electronica unit featuring a mysterious sound, and Takahiro Kido and Yuki Murata, who are the members of Anoice, an instrumental music band featuring dark cinematic sound. After releasing the debut EP 'era.ep' to coincide with their first live show in April 2010, RiLF released their debut album, 'Ferris Wheel', in September of the same year, featuring lovely vocals, simple band sounds and a beautiful string orchestra. Since then, they have participated in tours with various international artists such as Dakota Suite from UK, SayCet from France, and Stina from Australia. In 2018, RiLF released their second EP 'Three Stories for Numbers', featuring magnificently violent guitar noise like Sigur Rós and My Bloody Valentine, and in September 2020 the third EP 'Miss You', was released on handmade flexi disc (four colours / including digital data) for the first time. In October of the same year, RiLF released their second album, and first album in a decade, 'My Beloved Farewell'. It's a masterpiece of alternative rock and post-rock featuring RiLF's uniqueness; a magnificent orchestral sound woven with strings such as violins and violas, a simple but solid band sound and Calu's gentle vocal melodies. In 2026, RiLF released the 4th EP 'yellow veil' that is the first work in six years. It includes two songs based on the sounds which they recorded in Hong Kong, and as with the past songs, Anoice took charge of playing the instruments.
