BUDDHADATTA BUDDHADATTA is a three-piece band that combines Japanese Buddhist philosophy with the traditional Tuvan throat-singing technique known as Khoomei (Kargyraa). Influenced by the rhythmic spirit of 1980s post-punk, the band blends throat singing, Buddhist mantras, and powerful grooves to create a sound far larger than that of a conventional three-piece ensemble. The group has performed internationally in Australia, Germany, Taiwan, and South Korea, earning acclaim for its distinctive live performances, including sold-out shows in Australia. By bringing together Buddhist thought, Tuvan vocal traditions, and post-punk energy, BUDDHADATTA creates a unique musical experience that transcends language and cultural boundaries.
