Solo artist amou will release a new single "Living Room" on March 29.

Following his previous work "Swallowed By Me" and "Sabbatical," this will be his third consecutive monthly release, and his energetic activities have been attracting much attention.

This single was also self-produced, with everything from songwriting to recording, mixing, and mastering done in his own private studio.

This song is indie pop with a floating feel, which is his specialty. The sound of acoustic guitars layered over the texture of analog synths creates a unique sound image.

The introspective and somewhat philosophical lyrics are also a feature of the song, reminding us of the importance of warmth and connection with others, while maintaining a sense of distance from the excessive consumer society.

The jacket was designed by photographer obata chihiro, as on the previous album. The cover was inspired by the image of the song.

amou is a solo project by singer-songwriter Satoru Kitajima. Born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1991, he started playing guitar at the age of 14 and moved to the U.S. by himself at the age of 20. He studied recording, creativity, and marketing systematically in Hollywood with the concept of self-produced activities as an independent artist. After returning to Japan, while working for an IT venture company, he has been active in music as a guitarist and vocalist in "falleaves" and as a label director in "divergent record". In 2023, he started his solo career as "amou" and released his first ep "Slowdonw". He is influenced by emo and post-rock, and his sound is characterized by a wide range of sounds such as indie-folk, chill-out, tropical house, and so on. His lyrics are philosophical and reflective, as if he is confronting the difficulty of living within himself, while looking at the suffocation he feels in society.
