Popularity and artistic merit. These two seemingly contradictory ideals have been debated in various fields. Andy Warhol, while an artist, created works that were relatable and appealing to the masses. David Bowie became a more popular rock singer with his hit song "Let's Dance." This can be described as the modern age of diversification. The era in which artists could only choose stoic artistic expression is over. The present age may be one in which both the artistic and the popular are brought together in works of art. lonelywild's album "POP & ART" also features a collection of works that clearly show a move toward popular appeal. The use of Vocaloid is a prime example. The presence of familiar collaborators such as yossy and first-time participant (ASAMI) Asami is also significant. This album may offer a glimpse into the future direction of lonelywild's work.
