Kimi ga Umareta Hi / BASELINE 66
(The Day You Were Born)
Today is a little more special than usual-
a day to remember the meaning
of the moment you were born.
In the ordinary days we've spent together,
it's easy to forget how important
your presence truly is.
"The Day You Were Born" is not about looking back,
but about reaffirming the future
we will continue to walk together.
Carried by a bright and lively indie rock sound,
the song delivers a simple, almost shy message-
"Happy Birthday" and "Thank you."
The fact that you were born
is, to me, a miracle.
BASELINE 66 is a three-piece rock band from Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, Japan. With raw guitar sounds and honest, straightforward lyrics, they capture youthful emotions and memories of life just before leaving their island home. Their live performances prioritize feeling over perfection, creating an immediate and powerful connection with the audience. Their debut song, Mada Namae no Nai Koi Datta, tells the story of a first love experienced just before leaving the island. Driven by the idea of redefining their own baseline in music, BASELINE 66 has begun to draw a new line from the island to the wider world.
