  During their debut EP phase the artist was heavily influenced by American hip hop starting out by selecting type beats and layering vocals over them At the same time they immersed themselves in a wide range of Japanese music including J pop Showa era kayokyoku and utaite culture While consciously avoiding being perceived in Korea as simply someone imitating Japanese music they began to confront their own identity and creative direction eventually leading them to start composing their own work Their first self produced track H U R T explores themes inspired by the myth of Sisyphus and questions of existential purpose Rather than offering comfort or beauty alone the song expresses raw primal human emotion The lyrics deliberately avoid a conclusive ending and the music video is structured to return to its starting point both serving as an homage to No Longer Human Moving fluidly between Japan and Korea and across the boundaries of language and culture the artist continues to explore and dissolve themes of questioning and isolation through their music emerging as a new voice of their generation
