New song "New Day" by ChiyoTia, an artist with two roots in Hawaii and Japan, is the first single from "Sea of Love 8," the latest installment of the popular surf music series "HONEY meets ISLAND CAFE!
Included in the "Sea of Love 8" album, a collaboration with FM Yokohama's popular "SHONAN by the Sea" program, this song is a pleasant number that evokes the shimmering glow of a morning beach. ChiyoTia's vocals, sung as if she were telling a story, over a sound based on Hawaiian music and acoustic surfing, give this gentle song the energy to live a "new day".
ChiyoTia is an artist with two roots, one in Hawaii and the other in Japan. ChiyoTia is a unit group consisting of vocalist ChiyoTia and guitarist Yuji Hamanaka. The name "ChiyoTia" is derived from her Japanese and Hawaiian names. ChiyoTia moved to Hawaii with her mother's family when she was a child, and grew up listening to a wide range of music, including jazz and Hawaiian music that her grandmother and father had been familiar with, regardless of genre. She continues her musical activities with her unique live performances that incorporate lyrics with Hawaiian words and hula. Her song "Makana Aloha - Departures from the Heart" written by ChiyoTia was broadcast on NHK Minna no Uta in June and July 2020.
