Nakano Mimi releases a 5-track album GLOBAL PASSPORT on April 22, 2026.

This project is a concept album themed around "setting out into the world," depicting Hatsune Miku as a band vocalist stepping into the world of pop punk. Inspired by the golden era of 2000s pop punk, the album blends nostalgic band sounds with the modern Vocaloid scene, creating a fresh and unique crossover.

The album opens with "Departure," a powerful anthem of determination, followed by "Mid-flight," which captures the mix of excitement and anxiety while leaving everything behind. "Strange Town" tells the story of adapting to an unfamiliar place, gradually turning it into something like home. "Midnight" delivers an emotional moment under the stars, reflecting personal change and expanding horizons, leading into the final track "New Horizon," a driving rock anthem that pushes forward into the future.

Musically, the album is rooted in pop punk, melodic punk, and pop rock, featuring catchy melodies and classic structures reminiscent of the 2000s. At the same time, it introduces distinctive elements such as slap bass and groovy low-end arrangements, adding a unique twist. Combined with Hatsune Miku's vocals, the result is a sound that feels both nostalgic and entirely new.

Among the tracks, "Midnight" stands out with its emotional, synth-infused atmosphere, expanding beyond the boundaries of pop punk and reaching a wider audience.

Inspired by the success of previous releases on international platforms, GLOBAL PASSPORT was created with a global perspective in mind. Produced over the course of three months, the album also incorporates songs originally written for a live band setting, resulting in a raw and authentic band sound rarely heard in Vocaloid music.
