K,O 5th Album Kinetic Orrery

The fifth album by beatmaker K,O.

Built around field recordings, the album samples a diverse range of sounds from the world around us, including environmental and natural sounds, as well as the sounds of discarded computers and old clocks. Beyond conventional musical approaches, the work incorporates mathematical methods such as numerical sequences and probability, creating a hybrid soundscape where experimentation meets meticulous construction. Moving across electronica, ambient, and beat music, the album brings together chance and carefully structured composition.

The title Kinetic Orrery takes its name from an orrery, a mechanical model that recreates the orbital movements of planets in three dimensions. Each orbit may be simple in itself, yet their continuous and independent movements give rise to a complex and richly varied whole. In much the same way, the individual elements of this album overlap and interact, intertwining necessity and chance to form a single, intricate work.

The album also features a track released as part of OTAIRECORD presents BEAT GRANDPRIX 2025 supported by TuneCore Japan.

The physical edition includes a 34-page booklet featuring visual works that resonate with the music, including graphic art inspired by an orrery, collages, and pieces created by scanning plants. Together, the music and visual art expand the world of Kinetic Orrery, presenting it as a comprehensive artistic work that explores both sound and visual expression.
