For twenty years, I have walked alongside music
through countless encounters and farewells,
through moments of hope and moments of doubt.
As I reached this milestone, I found myself pausing,
and from the feeling of starting once more from zero,
this album Crawl was born.

Crawl to move forward like a baby learning to crawl.
Even if you can't walk well,
even if you can't move forward smoothly,
you still take small steps, little by little.
In this word, I found a return to my beginnings
a desire to reconnect with the very roots of my music.

Though I've been hurt and lost my way at times,
whenever the music begins to play,
I find myself moving forward again.
This album holds that truth,
and everything I have carried through these twenty years.

Artist Profile

  • AYA

    AYA is a singer-songwriter from Fukuchiyama, Kyoto, now based in Akita, Japan. Her music blends catchy pop melodies with pop-rock and electronic elements, creating a unique soundscape paired with poetic, imagery-rich lyrics. She began her musical career in 2005 and has continued to release music consistently, while also writing and providing songs for other artists. AYA is also the lyricist, composer, and vocalist of the digital pop unit DEKILUCO, showcasing a different facet of her creative style. In September 2025, she opened Crawl, a music bar she founded in Akita City. In December of the same year, she released her 3rd full album Crawl, marking the 20th anniversary of her artistic journey. The album reflects a desire to start again from zero,capturing both her growth and her ever-evolving sound.
