Why is it that you say-
"Guess I'm not needed by you anymore,"
to the one you call your idol?

Do those words rise
from wanting to keep them all to yourself-
a private constellation, no one else allowed to look?

What could an idol possibly do
to make you feel, truly feel,
you still matter here?

Or is that not the line your heart is reaching for?
Is what you really want to hear-
not "You're needed,"
but
"I need you"?

When hearts are traded
like fragile relics across a stage,
is that devotio-
or something even more beautiful?

If only we could be bound
by a red thread...
