    THE BOY is the solo project of Japanese singer-songwriter Akihisa Ota. He was born, raised and lives in Suzuka city, rich in nature in Japan with parents and siblings. When he was in elementary school, he watched the MV of Oasis "D'You Know What I Mean?". He was shocked and started dreaming of becoming a rock 'n' roller. He grew up with various music. Due to his brother's influence, he has been listening to Western music since he was in elementary school. He makes various music himself. He is prolific. Including unrecorded songs, he has written over 2000 songs. Heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, this influence can be seen in the structure of the songs. He hates existing rules. One of the objectives of the activity is to break the rules. Everything related to his music is done by him alone. Since he was a teenager, he applied for various auditions but was rejected (Excluding a few overseas festivals). Until the beginning of 2018, he has been performing live based in Nagoya for 5 years. An acoustic guitar and his voice, DJ, A rhythm machine and his voice. He used three styles differently. All were solo performances. During this period, he also experienced live performances in The USA. He performed with a rhythm machine and his voice. When he performed at a festival in New York, he was asked for an encore and after performing at a festival in Florida, he appeared on radio. Both of these happened for the first time for him. From these experiences, he realized that his music is suitable for overseas audiences. However, in addition to the mental illness he was suffering from, he developed epilepsy and gave up his live performances. Since then, he has focused his activities on promotion and distribution using the Internet.
