The Past Is Now
KOKAGE
A drumless, slow-tempo techno ballad where a childlike anime-style voice and a vintage Farfisa organ talk to each other.
At an unhurried 66 BPM, a pure, sustained vocal note is answered by the organ, sometimes gently, sometimes with wildly virtuosic runs.
"Future you, present me." The lyrics call across time and are recorded completely dry, so the voice and the organ sound close and intimate.
Minimal techno, smooth R&B, and a touch of 1960s French pop come together through the warm, quirky tone of the Farfisa.
Quiet, yet a little funny. A small, strange conversation in sound.
