Yamainu: The Wolf's Cub

In a cradle of fangs, a cub sleeps.
Live, live, little breath.
I bring back a life I took, and lick my cub with a bloodied mouth.
One goes out, and one grows.

A Japanese wolf hunting the frozen fields, and a cub crying in the den: a song about the oldest rule of living things, that life is fed by life.
Shamisen and taiko, with a distorted guitar that enters only for the hunt.
A male lead and weathered female min'yo voices.

IKIMONOIR: untold stories of living creatures and the strange.
"Seirui Kitan" Chapter IV.
