Kikyu (feat. HUNGER)

Cosaqu, the "brain" of the hip-hop group Umeda Cypher, who takes on various roles as producer, beatmaker, rapper, and engineer, will release his new single "Kikyu -kikyū- feat. HUNGER" on June 27, 2025. This track features HUNGER, a rapper from GAGLE, a prominent hip-hop group representing Sendai.

Cosaqu has been actively pursuing both group and solo endeavors. His previous release, "Helios feat. Tei K-M," was selected for Apple Music's "Hip-Hop Japan" playlist and has surpassed 100,000 plays.

For "Kikyu -kikyū- feat. HUNGER," Cosaqu produced the beat at his own STUDIO COSMIC BASE, and HUNGER recorded his rap in Sendai. D.O.I. handled the mixing, following up on their collaboration for the previous single, and Nigel O'Shea was in charge of the artwork.

Apparently, the idea of HUNGER's rap came to Cosaqu's mind as soon as the beat was finished, leading him to immediately request the collaboration. The song combines Cosaqu's hip-hop-mannered drums with a hybrid sound characterized by Rhodes and lead synths. On top of this, HUNGER's lyrical and positive lyrics, which express a journey through music with his unique worldview, create a hopeful track, living up to its title.

Cosaqu is currently working on his own produced album, and "Kikyu -kikyū- feat. HUNGER" will be the second single from that upcoming album.
