「Out of the Race EP」は、A.Y.Aの通算3枚目となるEP作品。サウンドプロデュースには、今年5月に発売された3rdフルアルバム「Uncured」にも参加していた新進気鋭のプロデューサー、KRICKを起用。収録された4曲には、ダンス/エレクトロからの影響が色濃く反映されており、先行シングルとなったM1を始め、歌詞中では資本主義・父権制への挑発・脱却(＝Out of the Race)を高らかに宣言しながらも、決してポップでセンシュアルなボディーミュージックの姿勢を崩さない。本作は今までになくエネルギッシュでダンサブルな作風となっており、エレクトロ、テクノ、アフロビート、ハイパーポップに至るまで、A.Y.Aの多彩なサウンドスケープが収められている。
