Song for Otona

Juri Mita

流されぬように今日をこなしてく

目的地なんて忘れてしまった

どうにか抱えた祈りを

死なせないように眠りにつく

Is this who I wanted to be?

I don’t know why, but I feel like

I’m losing the shape of my heart

Is this the place I dreamed of?

I don’t want to, I can’t believe it

But I know I’m here now

Is there a place where I belong?

I don't know why, but it feels like

There is nowhere to go

Where's the me I used to be?

Fly to the moon and leap to the stars without fear

カナシクナイヨオトナダカラ

上げた口角の後ろで泳ぐ視線

破れた空から降り注ぐ

光に目を細めたふりして泣いた

Artist Profile

  • Juri Mita

Japanese-Korean singer/songwriter Juri Mita was born in South Korea. She spent her childhood moving across Japan due to her father's job, while developing a deep connection with classical music from an early age. She graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music, majoring in violin. During that time, she joined a band club at the University of Tokyo, where she began performing as a vocalist. Around this period, she discovered artists such as Erykah Badu, Corinne Bailey Rae, Gretchen Parlato, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Esperanza Spalding, all of whom would go on to profoundly influence her musical identity. For nearly a decade, she worked as a writer and editor, traveling the world through her job. Yet her desire to pursue music continued to grow, leading her to study abroad in Paris in 2023. Guided by Lou Tavano, she immersed herself in the local jazz scene and dedicated herself to exploring the depth of her voice and musical expression. In 2025, after returning to Japan, she officially launched her career as a musician. Her debut EP Voice, released in August as a venue-exclusive CD, marks the beginning of a new chapter in her artistic journey.
