CONTRARY

Contrary Parade, the band of singer-songwriter Mayu Tanaka, also known as the female version of Spitz, will release a pair of albums, CONTRARY, on 13 March 2019 this year as early as possible, following their album PARADE, released in November 2018.

This album is the second work from the label transfer and is a mini-album with a total of six tracks under the band's name. It will be released on Miobell Records. It includes 'Utopia', newly recorded and arranged by up-and-coming musician Nozomu Sato (Camera = Fountain Pen, Fujin Club, Orangeade), and 'I want to be a witch' by arranger Piro Okada, who made a splash last summer when he and Tanaka provided music to Sexy Zone The song was released on the same day as the first album.

Guest musicians include Tomohiro Harigae (HALIFANIE/Kinmokusei) on drummer, Osamu Shimada (Swinging Popsicle/the Caraway) on guitar and Hironobu Hirata (Swinging Popsicle) on bass, as on the previous album, and new guitarists Hideki Kurosawa (L-R), Yosuke Kurosawa (Orangeade), Ozora Kimijima, Kenta Ito on bass, Nobuyuki Mori (ex.Qururi) and Ryo Arayama as drummers, and Maabii on percussion, making this an ambitious work with participation from young and experienced musicians.

The previous album 'PARADE', which was made after a five-year absence and a fresh start, and this album 'CONTRARY', as the name suggests, are two ambitious albums that together represent the current Contrary Parade, and will be of interest to pop music fans.
