The Moment Before Kabuki - Vol.3

The day women disappeared.
The day the voice changed.

At the beginning of kabuki, there was a woman's presence.
Dance, voice, and gesture themselves created the space and drew people in.

Over time, women vanished from the stage.
There was no single reason.
Unrest, gazes, order, and systems of control layered one upon another.

This episode does not focus on the act of "prohibition" itself, but on the moment when voice and body began to be replaced by another form.

After women disappeared,
what remained was movement and voice.
And the signs of form began to emerge.

"The Moment Before Kabuki Vol.3" records a quiet turning point in the transformation of kabuki.
