ovEnola will release its second EP, "UNDERWATER," on September 27. Their latest release, a series of three singles, has been picked up by official playlists such as Spotify's "Loud Rock Japan" and Apple Music's "Latest Songs: J Rock," and ovEnola has been attracting a lot of attention. This EP is based on the concept of the Cthulhu Mythos, and in addition to the strong guitar riffs, electronic sounds are effectively utilized to expand the worldview. Ryoichi Suemori (Sailing Before The Wind) plays a guest role on Tr.2, and Katsuya (SLOTHREAT, Misanthropist) is the sound engineer. The sound production is one-of-a-kind, maintaining the overwhelming heaviness and clarity of the sound image, while at the same time giving a sense of the underground extreme music atmosphere that is at the roots of ovEnola.
ovEnola is a metal band formed in Tokyo, Japan. Upon its launch, the band released its first EP "Death Wish" in 2018. ovEnola's music is based on Nu-Metal and Industrial Metal, modernized with elements of Metalcore and Deathcore, and features a flood of overwhelming heaviness combined with electronic sounds that encourage immersion in an eerie worldview. The production process was also influenced by various films and video games related to the cosmic horror genre, which became the blood and blood of the world that ovEnola expresses. In 2020, the band released its first full-length album "Left Behind" with Courtney LaPlante (Spiritbox), Bon (Annalynn), and ZUHO (Abort Mastication) as vocalists. In 2022, they released three consecutive singles, "Doors," "Monsters," and "Thrones." On September 27, 2023, The latest work, 2nd EP "UNDERWATER" is released.
