In a place where there was nothing before

A flower bloomed before I knew

A name unknown, it painted the night

Dyeing the silence in a gentle hue

From afar, it took my breath away

So beautiful, I couldn’t help but gaze

I, who hold no light of my own

Could only flicker in its gentle haze

The closer I draw

The color seems to fade

Afraid that if I touch it, it might break

Similar flowers blooming everywhere

No one seems surprised at all

Walking by as if it’s common and fair

I’d layer ideals onto the view

The beauty I thought I saw

Was just within me, shining through

A star that exists anywhere in the sky

Dreaming of being someone special and grand

Just a nameless light, looking at you

In this vast and lonely land

No one knows all the names of the stars

Yet the sky continues to shine, perfectly bright

I’m sure the flowers are just the same

Meaning follows after, hidden from sight

Bloomed in a place where there was nothing

That alone is more than enough to be true

The reality I saw up close

Wasn't a mistake, it was just in view

If I can light up the night

As an ordinary star, small and free

Then I’ve finally found

The answer meant for me
