This jazz arrangement combines the sound of the traditional Japanese bamboo flute Shinobue with cello, piano, and percussion.

A warm and nostalgic interpretation inspired by the star-filled night of the Tanabata festival.

Artist Profile

  • Kana Fuefuki

    Kana Fuefuki (Flute.Shinobue.Shakuhachi) Flutist specializing in jazz, Latin, and improvisational performance. Kana Fuefuki won 1st place in the wind instrument category and 2nd place overall in the Diners Club Social Jazz Session 2013 to14 YouTube video contest. She was also runner-up in the Internet Shinobue Contest 2014 and her original composition (Send for Spring) was a Finalist in the World Category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest 2014 She has performed at festivals and live venues in over 10 countries worldwide, including LONDON HYPER JAPAN the Traditional Music Festival in Kazakhstan, and Japan Festival Amstelveen Currently she leads her own band and participates as a flutist in various other ensembles. She is also active in studio recordings music for stage productions ballet performances, and has appeared as a guest on BS TV Tokyo (Ongaku Kousaten)
