At a somewhat lonely, unstaffed station called "Asari"
The scenery of my hometown where I was born and raised,
woven together with enka music,
tells the story of my seventy-seven years of life.

The hometown that my father loved so dearly -
now I sing of it in my father's place.

Even within Otaru, Asari is a town a little removed from the city center. Right in front of Asari Station stretches the Ishikari Bay, and on clear days you can catch a glimpse of the Mashike mountain range. I also recommend soothing your travel weariness at the Asari River Hot Springs.
